PERSONAL STATEMENT

Personally I love physical sports, innovating and designing. I love the feeling of accomplishment after completing a project, it makes me feel that all the sleepless nights and hard work had paid off. The most important thing is that we as designers enjoy the process of it and learn something new every time.

To describe myself as a designer, I am more of a graphical, innovative and sustainable type of designer. I would always strive to make my design outlast the test of time to help in global warming by preventing materials wastage. I always believe in turning ideas alive because ideas will just stay ideas unless someone does something to it, to turn it into reality. No matter what brief I’m given, quality and aesthetics would be one of the main thing that I will focus on. I mean nobody would like a product that is not finished off properly, a video that lags while playing or even colours that don’t match in your living room right?

During projects, I tend to enjoy prototyping, designing of presentation board and editing videos. While prototyping, I like to experiment with different materials combination, colours or even mechanism to make the product work. To me, prototyping is one very important aspect which cannot be left out as this will determine if the project will turn out well or not. It is also during prototyping which I can learn a lot of new things which make the process of design truly enhancing.

Presentation boards is the first thing that will catch customers or client’s eyes. It helps to communicate your project to the person viewing it without having to be there in person. The combination of photos being used and text placed a great emphasis in having a good presentation board so I would always place great importance of a presentation board in order to communicate my ideas well.

I believe communication is very important in no matter what discipline we are in. Applying 3D perspective thinking to my projects would help me develop my projects to the next level. While in GSA, I also intend to take up more freelancing work to further polish and develop my skills.

I am applying for both communication and interior design as these disciplines will further enhance my skills like 3D cading and communication which I believe is very important in the design industry. I also believe that the programmes I am applying for will allow me to have a stable income in future to support my parents and family while enabling me to have sufficient family time.
